Thursday 18 July 2013, London, United Kingdom: On the hottest day of the year (Wednesday 17 July) Literally PR hosted a media party for more than 90 guests including journalists from national newspapers, food magazines, bloggers, authors, publishers, literary agents, producers, brand owners and chefs.
Introducing Literally PR and the start of a fresh new approach to book, drinks and food PR, the party was a lively mix of people with sampling from Koji Drinks and Jewel Isle Rum Punch, special Literally cupcakes made by Mrs Teacakes, plenty of delicious food and drink, and fabulous goody bags packed with chocolate from Creighton’s, Sparcels (The Book by Linde Taylor) and Mr Hendrix jelly beans and chocolates. The Gluttonous Gardener displayed some of their fabulous gift boxes and there were plenty of books available for people to take home with them including The Socrates Project by Daron Sheehan, White Lies by Lynn Michell, When The Siren Calls by Tom Barry, Rocking Your Role by Jenny Garrett and SuperEgo by Julia Wurz.
Officially marking the start of a refreshing new approach to book, drinks and food PR, Literally PR’s Director, Helen Lewis, hosted an informal, entertaining, guest-list only get-together for VIP contacts, friends and colleagues from over the past 12 years.
There were plenty of networking opportunities for people wishing to meet journalists, authors, producers, retailers, literary agents and publishers. It was a fabulous opportunity to meet influential members of the book, drinks and food sectors together; to exchange ideas, discuss latest projects, sample some food&drink, learn more about Literally PR and food&drink towers, and make some new friends and contacts! Rather than the formal, stuffy and antiquated ‘networking events’ that many of us have been forced to attend, the Literally London Summer Media Party was a relaxed environment for people to put faces to names they’ve probably only seen on Twitter or Facebook. It was a fabulous chance to meet published and self-published authors, successful chefs and food writers, and to share tips and advice about lessons learned in the fast-changing, ever-evolving book, drinks and food worlds.
