Introducing food&drink towers PRDS

Why wait for the journalists to come to you? We can send your press release directly to them…

food&drink towers has worked as a successful communications hub for journalists, PRs, producers and foodies for six years.

What?

The food&drink towers Press Release Distribution Service (PRDS) is a unique way of getting your press release, media invite, press pack and/or photography to an audience of interested journalists. We tailor our services to meet all kinds of businesses with all kinds of budgets, and aim to be the most reasonably priced resource on the block.

Who?

The 1,500+ journalists that we email have voluntarily registered at www.foodanddrinktowers.com to access the full content of the website (news, features, press releases, competitions, editorial ideas, contacts, opinion pieces etc) and have agreed to join our mailing list. Journalists can unsubscribe at any time. We regularly invite journalists to join the website keeping the contact list fresh and up to date.

When?

We endeavour to send your press release to our journalists whenever you want us to. If you email your press release to us and we have availability on the same day, great. Or, you can block a mailing slot in advance.

Where?

The journalists are primarily based in the UK and include freelancers, bloggers, reporters and editors on national newspapers, regionals, consumer magazines and online food&drink titles.

How?

You need to send your press release/invite as a Word document to prds@foodanddrinktowers.co.uk. You can also upload it as a PDF and/or cut and paste from the Word document straight onto www.foodanddrinktowers.com and then drop us a line to let us know you want it distributing as well as publishing online.

How much?

£18. Flat-fee. No strings attached. We also regularly run promotions to registered members via email such as £10 Mondays and Wednesdays, so keep in touch!

Some more answers to your questions…

What else do I get for the £18 fee?

We will tweet and Facebook link to your story at www.foodanddrinktowers.com and if you include your Twitter and Facebook handles we’ll link directly to you. Your press release/invite will also be published at www.foodanddrinktowers.com in our press release pages where it will remain for a looong time…so you can direct customers and contacts there to read your news.

Can I send images?

If you want us to send a low resolution jpeg image along with your story, please email it to prds@foodanddrinktowers.co.uk.

What else can I do at food&drink towers?

  • You can upload future press releases for free publication at www.foodanddrinktowers.com whenever you like – regardless of whether you want them distributed to the inboxes of the journalists or not.
  • You can submit editorial such as opinion pieces, recipes and features for free publication in our news and features sections.
  • We have developed a panel of independent consumer taste testers from around the country who are ready and waiting to sample your product and write a refreshingly honest (and positive – we don’t print negative reviews) opinion on your product that you can use for marketing materials and link to from your own website.
  • You can submit product for competition prizes.
  • We can assist you with your PR, marketing and editorial work.

Who are you?

Food&drink towers was founded – and still managed by – Helen Lewis. Helen is a freelance food journalist with more than 11 years of experience in the publishing and food&drink media business, and a PR with more than six years experience of working with small, start-up companies through to global multinationals. Helen is the author of more than 50 market research reports for the likes of Business Insights, Aroq Publishing, Datamonitor, as well as the annual Ten Top Trends reports that are published free of charge at www.foodanddrinktowers.com.

If I send press releases out regularly – sometimes for different clients – can I get a discount?

Yep. We offer almost half-price discounts for people who want to send more than two press releases per month if they pay in advance for 12 months of PRDS. Just email Helen at helen@foodanddrinktowers.co.uk if you would like more information.

PR support...

food&drink towers offers an entry level PR service tailor-made to the needs of small but perfectly formed food&drink companies. We’ve also got a soft spot for start-ups looking for their slice of the media pie.

Our service is ideal for those of you who are too busy doing their day job to even begin to think about PR – we can take the task off your to do list. We understand that PR costs may not be in this year’s budget, but they’re essential. PR will attract media attention, and most importantly, help introduce new customers to your business. At f&dt you can cherry-pick the PR services most relevant to you (which won’t put the frighteners on your accountant). Or, you can opt for one of our two special packages: Spotlight and Splash.

Perhaps you simply want a press release to accompany the launch of a new product, or you’d like to organise a targeted campaign at the leading trade publications? Tell us what you want and we’ll see what we can do.

Cherry-pick one or more of the following PR services:

  • Press release plus free distribution via food&drink towers to relevant journalists.
  • Press pack to send to journalists detailing your company’s best bits and vital statistics (plus it’ll look good on your website).
  • Consultation - we can provide advice and support for your new product launch, or to revive your brand.
  • Social media support - we can offer advice and regular tweet/update services on your behalf.
  • Website copywriting: we can tweak existing copy to better suit your target audience or write new copy from scratch (prices available per page).
  • Photography: we don’t stipulate a minimum or maximum number of images. Perfect for packaging, sprucing up the website or including in marketing literature.

Helen is a fully-trained journalist and PR with more than 11 years experience. Please get in touch for more information and a tailor-made proposal including a full outline of costs. helen@foodanddrinktowers.co.uk.
